Thank goodness. After nearly 3 months, and countless hours on chat support, a publishing issue with this website seems to have been resolved.

Normal service can be resumed....

Except for the fact that we are going to update the website over the downtime at Xmas and come back in the New Year with a fresh new look.

Computer Woes

Sorry there haven’t been many updates recently. For some bizarre reason our Apple computer stopped publishing all the new items and we’ve been working on a fix for ages.

As a result of this disruption to service a new website is under construction and due to launch in January 2011.

The Live Show

I have had a lot of requests asking me when the next live shows are. Well there are some booked for 2011 but right now I am working on the Rex Roman TV Series. As there are only so many hours in the day I can’t do both at the same time but rest assured Rex Roman Live will return and the TV show is amazing.

Rex Update

Finally I have updated my blog.

Ever since the last live stage show in Bracknell on 22 May I have been working flat out on a Rex Roman TV pilot featuring the remarkable Thomas Mueller.

The Canadian director Kevin Duvall did an incredible job in capturing the essence of Rex Roman and the entire cast, crew and editors did an amazing job to produce a final 25 min episode fit for broadcast in a 30 min slot.

We have so much surplus material we could have easily made 3 episodes from just two days filming. It was so much fun and I am thrilled with the results. It truly is the pinnacle in Rex Roman’s adventures to date.

I hope that lots of people have the opportunity to see the final product.

Bracknell Rocks!!!

Well, well, well... Bracknell (AKA Las Vegas of the Thames Valley) certainly rocked on Sat 22 May. Despite the heat, a near capacity crowd enjoyed a memorable night of music and comedy as the Rex Roman show played its last show in a 18 month development cycle.

Since Feb 2009, the show has literally been written on the road and has changed from gig to gig. If you weren’t there last Saturday then you haven’t seen the full show, you’ve seen an old version.

Pink Floyd played Dark Side of the Moon live before they recorded it and then went on make, arguably, one of the greatest albums of all time.

I have taken the same attitude with Rex Roman and took the foolishly brave decision of taking the show live to see if it worked as a concept. I have listened to the praise and criticism in order to make Rex the most fantastic night out full of laughter, comedy and superb music.

Thank you Bracknell for giving us such an incredible night.

I must say the Rex Roman live gigs have been going extremely well this year.

Sat 15th May at the Charles Cryer in Carshalton was an absolute joy and the whole cast & audience loved the show so much it has already been booked in again next year on the 15th & 16th April.

All electronic but what a sound. An amazing piece of kit.

Maybe we’ll post some video later in the week so you can see what I am talking about.

BRACKNELL on 22nd May. Full acoustic kit with a full crowd and this is going to be the highlight of the year so far.

Make It Stop

2 days to go until the election. As Rex Roman is all about entertainment you won’t find any politics on this site, in the novel or in the stage show, ever - 100% guaranteed.

However, to escape the constant blah, blah I shall be rehearsing with my fine cast this Thurs 6th in London dreaming up more fun for the last 3 live shows before the summer break.

Rex has been on the road with shows, rehearsals, developments and script writing almost constantly since Feb 2009 and I am looking forward to a rest in June.

Bracknell Show

Bracknell - Las Vegas of the Thames Valley. The spiritual home of the Rex Roman show.

Rex Roman rocks into the Wilde Theatre at South Hill Park in Bracknell on SAT 22nd May and ticket sales are fantastic.

Fingers crossed this show is going to sell out.

If you haven’t got a ticket yet please hurry cas all the major hype kicks in from 27th April thru my drum school, papers, radio and local network of friends and scoundrels so I expect the remaining tickets will sell quickly.

If you saw the last Bracknell show in June 2008 you are simply not going to believe how incredible the show is now. It’s absolutely magnificent and so funny that if you don’t have a good time I will
personally eat my drum kit... including the cymbals.

This will be the last Rex Roman show before the world cup break when barbecues and betting take over as the main focus of my time.

Meet Lenny (above)

Such is the fury of activity in Rex World right now that I have had to bring in specialist staff in the form of the studio dog -
Lenny the Westland Terrier.

With this little guy sitting beside me he watches my every move
and brings a smile to my face every time I look at him. He’s so cute.

Meanwhile Smudge, the master producer, has taken to overseeing poster printing for forthcoming shows and ensuring standards are maintained.

I did want to publish what I thought was a funny April Fool gag today but I got told off for being childish and advised not to.

Well I am sure there will be plenty of others out there so watch out because everyone is a comedian today.

Trash Can Radio

Last Friday I went to Horsham and into the corporate offices of Trash Can Radio.

I was greeted by the Managing Director, Martin Robertson, and the station manager Harry.

I have been into numerous BBC radio stations up and down the country so this was certainly a change but I absolutely loved it. While Martin & I talked about The Rex Roman Show coming into Horsham Capitol on 17th April, Tina stroked Harry’s belly as he lay on the studio floor.

Tina is the hype department behind Rex Roman and lord only knows how she found Martin but I am glad she did. I love people like this.

Martin was bored one Christmas day and decided to start a radio station, as you do. You can link to the station here and also join their facebook friends.
